As it celebrates its 31st anniversary, Villa del Sueño is enhancing its musical programming with a new initiative set to become a highly anticipated event: the Show of the Month.
To inaugurate this new series, the venue is proud to present its very first performance featuring singer Joss Araya, a rising star on the Costa Rican music scene. True to its reputation for artistic excellence, Villa del Sueño continues its mission of presenting high-quality musical performances in an intimate setting where gastronomy, music, and a tropical atmosphere naturally come together.
For Claude Laferrière, Director of Programming, this new initiative strengthens an already well-established offering.
“The Show of the Month is an addition to our solid regular music programming, which has already built Villa del Sueño’s reputation. It allows us to go even further by offering exceptional performances on a monthly basis, while remaining faithful to what our audience knows and loves about us.”
According to Laferrière, this monthly format creates a distinct cultural rendezvous without disrupting the balance of the existing programming. To launch the series, Villa del Sueño is proud to welcome Joss Araya this January—an artist renowned for her vocal versatility and her impressive career on both the Costa Rican and international music scenes.
Araya first gained widespread recognition as a finalist on the sixth season of Tu Cara Me Suena Costa Rica in 2021, where she earned third place. She quickly established herself as a standout voice thanks to her ability to move effortlessly between musical styles. In 2025, she also served as a backing vocalist on Nace una Estrella, Costa Rica’s equivalent of The Voice, further confirming her recognition among both audiences and industry professionals.
More recently, she collaborated with the Costa Rican Philharmonic Orchestra, performing the greatest hits of the legendary band ABBA, a project that left a strong impression on music lovers across the country. According to Claude Laferrière, this collaboration perfectly illustrates her talent:

During this special evening presented in a dinner-and-show format, Joss Araya will offer a repertoire in both Spanish and English, taking the audience on a true musical journey—from Latin boleros to American pop, including timeless hits by Gloria Estefan, along with some of her original compositions.
Designed exclusively around the dinner-and-show concept, this new format invites guests to enjoy a carefully crafted meal while experiencing a high-level musical performance, all within the unique ambiance of Guanacaste’s star-filled evenings.
Over the years, Villa del Sueño has established itself as a recognized cultural venue, hosting productions and artists such as Le Dream Machine, Hommage à Santana, Carlos Hernandez, Gerry Mosby, and many others. The Show of the Month continues this tradition while offering a privileged stage for unique talents, presented in an intimate format that fosters closeness with the audience.
With the launch of the Show of the Month, Villa del Sueño reaffirms its commitment to remaining a key cultural player in the Guanacaste region—offering refined, accessible, and deeply human musical programming where each evening becomes a moment of connection, discovery, and shared emotion.
