The Guanacaste Airport (Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport), located in Liberia, has announced the resumption of operations starting this Sunday, November 17, from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. This reopening ends a temporary closure caused by issues on the runway due to heavy rains over the past few days.

For this reopening day, a total of 64 flights are scheduled, including 17 that were rescheduled following cancellations on Friday and Saturday. The airport administration anticipates a high volume of passengers and strongly recommends that all travelers stay in touch with their airlines for updated flight information.

« I’m so thankful the airport is reopening today. It means I can get back to work in Toronto on time without further complications. Hats off to everyone who worked so hard to make this possible! »

During the closure, repair work was carried out on the runway. However, Civil Aviation authorities reported that challenging weather conditions delayed the completion of maintenance work.
