Since moving to Costa Rica in 2021, Line KE has become much more than a Spanish teacher. She’s a warm and empathetic guide bridging cultures, helping French speakers connect deeply with the Spanish language—and with Costa Rican life itself.
A Life-Changing Love Affair
Line’s story in Costa Rica began with a shared dream. Her partner had discovered the country in 2014 during an internship. “When we met, he told me, ‘One day, I want to live there,’” she recalls. In August 2019, they visited the country together for the first time, and the magic happened: “The nature, the warmth of the people, the gentle way of life… Everything touched me deeply.”
A few months later, they made the bold decision to settle there. “It was a desire for change, for simplicity, for authenticity. We leapt into the unknown, driven by a spirit of adventure.” And so began a new chapter for Line and her partner, Morgan.
From Therapist to Everyday Educator
Back in Europe, Line worked as a psychomotor therapist—a profession centered on human connection, listening, and support. But in Costa Rica, her qualifications weren’t recognized. “I spent a long time searching for my new path,” she admits. “Then one day, someone asked me, ‘Could you teach me Spanish?’ And everything clicked.”
Teaching Spanish turned out to be a perfect fit. “I’ve always loved explaining things clearly,” she smiles. “When I was younger, friends would say, ‘If our teachers explained things like you do, we’d understand everything!’”
Spanish as a Bridge to Real Life
Line now teaches Spanish to tourists and expats—but her real mission goes far beyond grammar.
“Most expats who come here want to understand the culture, to integrate and connect. It’s beautiful to witness and support that process.”
What makes her method special is how deeply personal it is. “I know their struggles—the doubts, the habits that don’t translate—because I went through the same learning curve.” For Line, learning Spanish isn’t just academic.
“It’s about opening yourself to others—to their humor, their way of thinking, their stories.”
She often speaks about the warm-hearted nature of Costa Ricans:
“As soon as you try to speak their language, their eyes light up. It’s like holding a passport to true connection.”
A Personalized, Heartfelt Approach
Line always begins with a free video call. “It’s a moment of listening,” she says. “I try to understand their goals, hesitations, and interests. Then I build a customized learning plan.”
She specializes in teaching beginners and intermediate learners. “That’s where I can really make a difference. And if I ever feel their needs exceed what I can offer, I’m honest about it. I don’t sell lessons at all costs—I offer genuine support.”
A Testimonial from a Grateful Student
One seasonal resident from Canada, Sylvie Beaumont, chose Line to improve her Spanish and better connect with local life. She had this to say:
“What I love about Line is her deeply personalized approach. She really takes the time to understand where I’m at, and she tailors the lessons to my pace, my goals—even my personal interests. It feels like she’s teaching just for me! Es un gran placer para mí recomendarles a Line para aprender español.”
– Sylvie Beaumont
Thanks to Line’s one-on-one guidance, Sylvie says she made quick progress—and began to truly enjoy learning the language.
Small Victories, Big Impact
What moves Line the most? “When a student tells me they finally dared to speak with their Costa Rican neighbor… or understood a conversation at the market. Those little milestones are huge. They reflect real inner transformation.”
More than lessons, Line offers confidence, joy, and a renewed passion for learning and connection. Speaking the language while living or traveling in Latin America offers a tremendous advantage. It eases communication, fosters cultural understanding, speeds up integration, and leads to more authentic experiences. Whether asking for directions, making purchases, or forging friendships, speaking Spanish opens doors—and hearts.
An Invitation to Learn
For anyone hesitating to take the first step, Line shares a warm invitation:
“Don’t wait any longer! Spanish is alive, musical, generous. It’s a human adventure before anything else. What matters most is your desire—and remembering to enjoy the process!”
Beyond her teaching, Line enjoys a slow and meaningful life in Playa del Coco. “Costa Rica taught me to slow down, to savor nature, human connection, and gratitude. Here, we live with the rhythm of the sun. We marvel at butterflies, sunrises, and the gift of a smile.”
Where to Find Her
Line offers in-person lessons in Playa del Coco and online sessions via Google Meet. “Some students start with me online and later continue in person when they return to Costa Rica. It’s very flexible.”
