Guanacaste International Airport, also known as Liberia Airport, has just set a new attendance record in 2023, marking the fourth time this year that the terminal has broken records.

On Saturday, December 23rd, Guanacaste International Airport recorded its busiest day ever, welcoming over 10,252 passengers. On that day, the terminal handled a total of 31 operations, including 6 domestic flights and 25 international flights, primarily from the United States and Canada.
Authorities of the VINCI Airports network praised the smooth immigration, security, and customs procedures, ensuring passengers a seamless experience on this historic day of December 23rd.
Guanacaste Airport had already broken records in January 2023, welcoming 181,840 passengers, marking the first record of the year. In March of the same year, the airport set a new record by registering 184,617 passengers, surpassing previous marks. The third record was set on Saturday, March 11th, the day with the highest attendance in history at that time, with 9,922 tourists.
Since 2012, Guanacaste Airport, formerly known as Daniel Oduber International Airport, has been under the concession of Coriport. Over the years, attendance has continued to increase, reaching an impressive total of 12 million passengers in transit, both for domestic and international flights.
César Jaramillo, the airport’s general manager, expressed his joy about this attendance growth, emphasizing that it resulted from a strategy developed in collaboration with the government, airlines, hoteliers, and tour operators. He also highlighted the airport’s ongoing commitment to providing a positive experience for travelers choosing Guanacaste as their ideal vacation destination.
Currently, the terminal accommodates 15 international airlines and one domestic airline, serving a total of 23 international destinations.
